Paris Saint-Germain were already reeling from the injuries suffered by Ousmane Dembélé and Désiré Doué during the international break. However, they suffered three fresh injury blows during Sunday’s 2-0 win over RC Lens.
Last season was a long one for PSG. The club went all the way to the final of the UEFA Champions League, winning the trophy for the first time, whilst they also reached the final of the FIFA Club World Cup, which took place in mid-July, before losing to Chelsea.
It meant that PSG only returned to pre-season training seven days before their first match of the season, and they now look to be paying the price. Dembélé will miss six weeks of action, whilst Doué is still out for another fortnight.
There were three fresh injuries at the Parc des Princes on Sunday. Lee Kang-in came off with an injury to his right ankle, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia with an injury to his calf, and Lucas Beraldo came off on a stretcher, having twisted his ankle.
Luis Enrique could not give any information on the three injuries post-match, however, he and PSG will be hoping that all can make speed recoveries. Les Parisiens get their Champions League defence underway against Atalanta on Wednesday.
